Event Branding & Design
Toast to our Towns (2024)
In 2024, Truman Heartland Community Foundation took a bold and vibrant turn with its annual gala, Toast to Our Towns. This year’s theme embraced color, playfulness, and transformation—brought to life through an imaginative butterfly motif woven throughout every element of the event design.
Creative Direction
Butterflies became the star of the show in this brand suite. We built the visual identity around a bold and colorful butterfly pattern. From the logo and printed invitations to large-format signage and night-of collateral, the brand system was consistent, eye-catching, and full of movement.
Custom 3-Panel Invitation
For the 2024 gala, we designed a unique 3-panel vertical invitation that brought energy and movement to the event’s first impression. The fold-out format gave us room to feature the colorful butterfly artwork and guide the viewer through the event details in a clear, engaging way.
Project Deliverables
The 2024 project included a range of custom print pieces and environmental design elements:
-
Custom event logo
-
Invitation suite with matching envelope
-
20-page event program booklet
-
Night-of signage and supporting collateral
Event Program Booklet
The 20-page program served as a key guide for the evening, featuring an event overview, honoree bios, sponsor recognition, advertisements, and foundation information. Designed to match the bold visual theme, the layout balanced color and clarity to keep the content organized, readable, and engaging throughout.
Citizen’s Reception
In addition to the main gala, I designed materials for the Citizen’s Reception, an exclusive pre-event honoring that year’s Citizen of the Year nominees. This invitation had its own look and feel while remaining visually tied to the overall event brand. The design challenge was to create something cohesive yet distinct—recognizable as part of the family, but clearly a separate event.
